What kinds of metal can be resized?

Silver, gold, and platinum are the best and most common types of metals used in fine jewelry. All of these metals can be heated, bent, and adjusted to easily be resized without impacting the structural integrity of the ring.

Rings made from alternative metals or materials such as Tungsten, Titanium, or Ceramic are often not able to be resized.

How long does it take to resize a ring?

A ring resizing is simply the process of changing the circumference of a ring. This is neccissary if you have gained or lost weight, and is important to help ensure that the ring securly and comfortably fits.

Can rings with diamonds be resized?

Rings such as engagment rings and wedding bands often have diamonds or other precious stones. These rings often can be resized just like any other ring, however careful considerations have to be made by the goldsmith. Depending on how the diamonds are set and how far down the shank they go, the goldsmith might have to encorporate different techniques to ensure that the structural integrity of the ring is not impacted. This is why it is important to only have expertly trained and experienced goldsmiths repair your fine jewelry.
