JEWELRY RESIZING

RING RESIZING
Nearly every type of ring can be resized. All the craftsmen we work with are dedicated to making your ring fit perfectly whilst preserving its value and style. To resize a ring, we either remove metal or add matching new metal until the desired size is reached. We use state-of-the-art equipment and ensure the resize leaves no signs behind.
Starts at: $50
-
NECKLACE RESIZING
Each chain is unique and so is the process to adjust its length. Sometimes our goldsmiths will recommend adding jump rings while other times we may be able to simply remove a portion of chain and resolver it together. Â
-
RESIZING FOR KNUCKLE PROBLEMS
For small resizes or situations where the ring is loose around the finger but cannot fit around the knuckle, a classic resize is not the right solution. Sizing beads, sleeves or a sizing spring can offer a solution. They are placed inside a ring to reduce the inner circumference or size. It's a great way to size a ring down or keep it from turning or twisting on the finger.

PRONG RE-TIPPING
With time, the parts of the ring that hold your diamond in can get worn down. When this happens these parts, referred to as the prong, either need to be re-tipped or replaced. A re-tipping is when additional metal is added to reinforce the structural integrity of the ring. When this can't be done, the prong sometimes needs to be replaced.
-
PRONG REPLACEMENT
Prongs are the small metal claws that hold the stone in the mounting. Occasionally, the tips of the prongs can break or bend. To avoid the loss of a stone, prongs require routine care and maintenance. If prongs break off or get severely damaged, they will be replaced. In some cases, the number of prongs damaged, or the nature of the damage and ring design, might warrant a complete head replacement.
-
STONE SETTING OR TIGHTENING
If your diamond fell out of its setting we will securely set it in a new mounting. If the setting is intact, but the stone is loose, it will be tightened with precision. If required, any broken prongs or heads responsible for the loosened stone are re-tipped or replaced. Sometimes, unfortunately the diamond is lost or severely damaged. Our partners keep a large selection of diamonds and settings on stock so they can ensure the perfect fit. We will reach out for further communication in case stone replacement is required.
-
REBUILDING A BEZEL
A bezel refers to a diamond setting where a ring of metal encloses a gemstone or diamond, holding it in place. This delivers a clean, thin and protective frame around a ring's center stone. If the bezel structure fails to secure the stone or gets severely damaged we can rebuild or replace the setting. If a stone falls out due to a broken bezel, we will reset it.
-
REBUILDING A CHANNEL
A channel setting is a secure way to set diamonds in a row into the ring's band, creating a metal channel of stones within the shank. Diamonds or other gemstones are set closely together in the channel grooves to decorate the sides of the band or the entire band. Usually channel settings are very secure, however when they do get damaged, they can be rebuilt or replaced. If a stone falls out due to a broken channel, we will reset it.
REPLACING & ADDING PARTS

REPLACING A BAIL
The bail is the metal loop connector at the top of a pendant, which allows the pendant to hang from a chain or jump ring. The bail can also be directly attached to the necklace/bracelet chain. Unfortunately they are often susceptible to breaking in which case we can repair or replace them.
-
REPLACING A JUMP RING
Jump rings are jewelry essentials. They are small loops allowing you to attach everything from chains to clasps, pendants and charms. Since they are often made of thin pieces of metal wire, they are prone to damage and often cause a snapped chain. We can replace broken jump rings, or add new ones to the chain to make its length longer or just more customizable.
-
ADDING A CHARM / PENDANT
Your lucky charm has fallen off, we will secure it back to your necklace or bracelet through a soldering process. Solder is a metal alloy that is fusible and has a low melting point. The solder holds the two disconnected pieces together (like a glue), and its low heat point means that it can be melted without affecting the rest of the metal. Instead of soldering it on, we can also attach the charm through a jump ring. Please see replacing jump ring service.
-
FIX OR REPLACE A CLASP
The clasp, also called link or lock, is the mechanism that closes a necklace or bracelet. Since it is often opened and closed, it is susceptible to loosening up or even breaking. To ensure you can go back to wearing your piece and can stop worrying about it falling off your hand or neck, we offer clasp repairs and replacements. Simply choose the claps you have.
-
REPLACING POST OR EARRING BACK
Post earrings are made of a thin metal rod with a decorative element on one end. The metal rod, or post, is inserted into the pierced ear. To keep the earring from falling out, a back is attached to the end of the post that sticks out behind the ear. Post can bend or break in which case we repair it or attach a new one. Earrings backs are very small pieces of metal and therefore unfortunately often get lost. If you tell us which back you are looking for we can send you a brand new set.
